We're Live!

Server Corps is now live!  It's been a long time coming, but we are finally on-net, and all critical systems are certified and running.  We are (still) waiting on our BGP peering to be complete, but in the mean time we are doing some policy based routing magic in the core switch gear.  Otherwise, I'd like to thank everyone that helped us get to where we are, and we hope to make up for the delays in going live in the next few months.  I'll be posting some high resolution photos of the data center and facility in the next few days.

Racks are in, cabling begins, more power and AC pics.

Floors, Fiber, Oh My!

Moving along nicely.  Flooring is in, and it looks nice.  Carpet in the offices, tile in the work area, and the DC gets Anti-Static VCT, bonded to the ground system every 8 feet with copper.

AC & Power

Wow, we have made a LOT of progress!  Walls are up and 90% finished, AC units were delivered Thursday, and were placed into position today.  The HVAC and electrical contractors will be in tommorrow to hook it all up, then the HVAC guys will be building the duct work. We're doing a hot aisle/cold aisle configuration, so we're  positioning our Liebert Foundation racks in place, then the HVAC guys will duct the supply and return vents to exactly the precise spots in front and behind the racks.  The power feeds to our BayTech rack PDUs will be dropped from above, using flex cable and twist lock 208 VAC connectors, for the ultimate in flexibility.

Construction Continues

After some delays getting easements for our fiber-optic connectivity from ATT approved, we're back under construction.  We got an HVAC design done, and the first two Liebert chilled water CRACs are already installed.  Two Liebert refrigerant based units are on order.  We'll have primary chilled water, secondary pumped refrigerant.  The first Natural Gas generator is installed, and we have an existing diesel generator on-site, and we have to decide if the backup generator should be diesel or natural gas.  Natural Gas is VERY reliable on the gulf coast, as it it is the primary source of heating water and power for the most critical parts of our infrastructure.  Diesel can let you down when you can't get it.

All the walls of the network, power, and HVAC rooms are done, and the server room is under construction. Walls are finished and the overhead has been stripped down to the 2" steel plate that lines it.
