Server Corps Hurricane Plan

 

1 week before predicted landfall

  • Initiate daily hurricane preparedness calls with internet providers and facility manager


 

3 days before predicted landfall

  • Daily preparedness emails to customers
    • Discuss access to Server Corps before, during, and after the storm
    • Review customer contact information
  • Ensure network and data center documentation are current
  • Test natural gas and Diesel generators to include full switch over
  • Initiate daily status calls with all Server Corps staff
    • Discuss availability
    • Review contact information

24 hours before landfall

  • Manually lock all doors
  • Ensure all cell phones are completely charged and chargers are present.
  • Full backups of all servers and PCs are to be completed
  • Data Center should have adequate food and drinks
  • Ensure the following items are available
    • Flashlights, bedding, extension cords.


 

During Storm

  • Maintain watch over data center
  • Attempt to contact each staff member


Post Storm

  • Contact staff and ensure all are safe
  • Contact customers with and provide a current status of the data center
